1910 Barker Pass Road,
Santa Barbara, California. A Santa Barbara
homecoming
A foothill home refreshed inside and out to serve as a family getaway and a luxury vacation rental.
See before and after
In the foothills where the Santa Ynez Mountains meet the Pacific breeze, 1910 Barker Pass Road is classic Santa Barbara: calm, sunny and close to nature.
This was our third project with these clients, and it took us south. Our founder, Vanessa, lived in Santa Barbara for eight years during and after her time at UCSB, so saying yes was easy.

Made for guests, built to last
The home is both the family’s getaway and a luxury vacation rental, so every choice had to look high-end and hold up to frequent guests. Think boutique-hotel comfort that keeps its polish season after season.
We gave it a complete refresh: fresh paint inside and out, statement lighting, updates to the kitchen and primary suite, and furnishings for every room.

Light, texture and the coast
Warm whites with soft, earthy undertones, inside and out, match Santa Barbara’s light and hillsides. Sculptural fixtures in woven fiber, matte black iron and natural brass give each room its own character.
The kitchen got streamlined surfaces and new hardware, and the primary suite became a calm, spa-like retreat. Deep performance-fabric seating, layered linens and handmade accents make it easy to relax after a day at the beach or in the Funk Zone.
